Finding the Bus Stop

You need to catch a bus and ask where the nearest stop is.

You
Disculpe, ¿dónde queda la parada del autobús?
dees-KOOL-peh, DOHN-deh KEH-dah lah pah-RAH-dah del ow-toh-BOOS?
Excuse me, where is the bus stop?
"Autobús" is universal, but you'll hear "camión" in Mexico, "colectivo" in Argentina, and "guagua" in the Caribbean.
Local
La parada está por allá, en la esquina de esa calle.
lah pah-RAH-dah ehs-TAH por ah-YAH, en lah ehs-KEE-nah deh EH-sah KAH-yeh.
The stop is over there, on the corner of that street.
"Por allá" means "over that way" — locals often point while saying this.
You
¿Y sabe cada cuánto pasa el autobús?
ee SAH-beh KAH-dah KWAHN-toh PAH-sah el ow-toh-BOOS?
And do you know how often the bus comes?
Local
Como cada quince minutos. No se preocupe, pasa seguido.
KOH-moh KAH-dah KEEN-seh mee-NOO-tohs. noh seh preh-oh-KOO-peh, PAH-sah seh-GEE-doh.
About every fifteen minutes. Don't worry, it comes frequently.
